Knights of Poker is a self run, Poker Club which is administered by it's club members and it is for poker players to meet, play poker and generally have a great night out!
Why "Knights of Poker"
Knights of Poker was founded by Paul Hearne & Damien Meredith. Being keen poker players (all be it not very good) we were both eager to play poker on a regular basis but there was a lack of suitable clubs/venues in our local area where we could meet other like minded lovers of poker.
That being the case we thought why not start a poker club in our local area where we could meet and play against other poker lovers. From that initial concept Knights of Poker was founded.
Why "Knights of Poker": We love the name, We love the game !!!
Where we meet
All tournaments are held at The Kings Head Public House, Ashford, Middlesex. The tournaments are held every other Tuesday during the season and tables are seated at 8.00pm sharp. We would request that all players register by 7.30pm latest so that we know how many players we have that night and can have the necessary tables, chips etc set up.
Subscriptions
There is a series subscription fee of £15.00, payable when you join up with us for your first tournament.
This is set to cover the administration of the club (i.e purchase of equipment, hire of venue etc.) The club obviously does have running costs and these must be covered to enable us to continue running. As already mentioned this club is not run to make a profit and all 'Officers of the Club' give up their time freely and at no cost to ensure the smooth running of the club.
We would request that all subscriptions are paid in cash and will be payable on your entrance to your first tournament. We will accept membership during a season and will pro-rata the initial subscription.
You must register your interest to join before you will be accepted so please click on the register button that appears on every page, we will then contact you to officially invite you into our membership. No money will be taken from you at this point !
Tournaments
Tournaments will be run on a 'season' basis which will consist of 13 events run bi-weekly. To ensure that everyone gets a 'fair deal' and also to understand that not everyone can make every event due to work commitments etc, we have decided that the final league standings, will be based on each players best 10 scores. We are allowing 3 no shows which will not penalise you. (We will run a standard league for the 1st 10 events, thereafter the best 10 will count.)
To enter a tournament there will be an entrance fee of £1.00 per tournament. Due to the changes in the gaming laws that came into effect on the 1st September 2007, we are now able to play cash games which are capped at £100.00 per pot so your stake will be £5.00 per night. For more information on our tournaments please view our tournaments page.
